The Words You Speak Become the Rhythm You Live.

KARIMA is more than a name — it’s a remembering.
A philosophy, a practice, and a movement born from one truth:

healing begins in rhythm.

Not in silence or striving, but in the words we repeat —
the chants, prayers, and stories that shape our inner world.

The Origin of KARIMA

[Ka-ree-mah] was born from two ancient languages and one timeless instinct — the need to voice the soul.

Ka comes from the wisdom of West African and ancient Egyptian cosmology. It is the life force, the sacred energy that animates us — the invisible current linking body, spirit, and ancestry. It is the self beneath the surface — the rhythm that remembers.

Rima comes from Latin — meaning rhyme or measured sound. It is the pattern that gives language pulse and feeling, the architecture of expression that turns emotion into motion.

Together, they form KARIMA — the rhythm of the soul expressed through word.

KARIMA — the rhythm of the soul expressed through word.

The belief that what we voice, we create — and that

every word we speak shapes the world we live in.

But the space between Ka and Rima is where the magic happens.
That space is chant — the practice of calling the soul into rhythm.
Across cultures, chant has always bridged energy and sound —
how we let the Ka move through Rima, how the soul becomes audible.

KARIMA is that bridge — the practice of chanting the soul through rhythm, turning language into healing energy.

KARIMA began with a photograph — a museum plaque in Brazil describing the Churinga, sacred Aboriginal artifacts once used to carry ancestral stories. The photograph was sent by a friend on vacation.

That moment stirred something ancient: a reminder that storytelling is not performance — it’s prayer.

I didn’t want to appropriate that name; I wanted to honor the practice it represented — using voice as a vessel for remembrance.

So I looked to my own lineages — to the languages of spirit and sound —
and from that listening, Ka-rima was born:
a new word for an old truth — the soul heals in rhythm.

The Philosophy

KARIMA exists to restore rhythm to the human story.

In therapy, in art, and in community, we help people reconnect to their own Ka — their inner pulse — and express it through their Rima — their words, movement, and creativity.

We believe the words you speak become the rhythm you live.
That every affirmation, poem, and conversation has the power to change your nervous system, your relationships, and your sense of belonging.
That chant, story, and science can coexist — and together, become medicine.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about returning to the sound of who you’ve always been.

KARIMA Collective brings this philosophy to life through three interconnected arms:

  • KARIMA Storytelling Where words align to rhythm.

  • KARIMA Relationship Therapy Where rhythm becomes healing.

  • KARIMA Foundation Funding the rhythm of healing.

Each one moves to the same pulse — the belief that when we restore rhythm to individuals, we restore rhythm to communities, and ultimately, to the world.

The Collective

Our Founder

For nearly two decades, Jonathan Jackson has lived at the crossroads of leadership, healing, and transformation. From boardrooms to classrooms, from stages to therapy rooms, his work has always centered one mission —
to help people and communities rediscover their rhythm, direction, and truth.

As the founder of KARIMA Collective, Jonathan moves at the intersection of storytelling and healing — bridging art and psychology to create spaces where words become medicine. Rooted in both clinical training and creative expression, his work reminds us that healing isn’t just recovery — it’s creation.

Before founding KARIMA, and after over a decade in nonprofit leadership, Jonathan launched Thought Partner Solutions, LLC, a firm dedicated to coaching nonprofit executives and social impact leaders.

Jonathan Jackson

Educator. Writer. Storyteller.

That same clarity-driven, heart-centered philosophy now lives at the core of KARIMA —  where therapy, storytelling, and community impact come together to form a movement for collective healing.

On stage, his spoken word gives voice to pain, resilience, and renewal. In the therapy room, he helps clients become authors of their own change. And in every room he enters, his message remains the same: Our stories are sacred. Our scars are teachers. Every journey has a rhythm.

The Invitation

KARIMA is an invitation to speak yourself whole
to let your soul find its rhythm again.

For the artists, the therapists, the changemakers, and the healers:
this is your rhythm, your home, your collective.

KARIMA Collective — A rhythm for healers. A home for change.
Chant your soul through rhythm.
Live what you speak.
